Easter isn’t about a bunny. In fact, it has nothing to do with a bunny.
Easter isn’t about eggs. Or hiding them. Or finding them. In fact, it has nothing to do with eggs.
Easter isn’t about buying a new dress. In fact, it has nothing to do with clothing.
Easter isn’t about chocolate. In fact, it has nothing to do with candy.
Easter is about life.
Easter is about hope.
Easter is about victory.
Easter is about remembering that when all hope is gone, all hope is not gone.
Easter is about remembering that though Friday is dark, Sunday is coming.
Easter reminds us that because Jesus overcame death, we can too.
Easter is about the death of death.
Easter is about eternal joy.
Easter is about Jesus.
To say that the Easter bunny is of the devil might be a slight exaggeration. But the enemy is sly. And he has subtly duped many of us into celebrating bunnies, eggs, and chocolate instead of celebrating Jesus.
The Easter Bunny has made us fat and distracted.
Jesus has died for our sins, taken our place, given us hope, forgiven our faults, loved us eternally, and overcome our greatest enemy: death.
