How to Turn Ordinary Experiences into EXTRAORDINARY Ones

How do you turn ordinary experiences intro extraordinary ones?\r\n

In yesterday’s post, I talked about how discouragement is the result of unmet expectations. When something doesn’t meet our expectations, we are left disappointed. When something exceeds our expectations, we are left thinking, “Wow!

\r\n

\r\nSo how do we create more “wowâ€ experiences in life? By exceeding expectations.\r\n\r\nThis applies to almost any area of life. Jesus talked about this idea in Matthew 5: “…whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.â€ It’s very easy to get by with “good enoughâ€. But Jesus challenges us to not be satisfied with “good enoughâ€– He challenges us to exceed expectations. \r\n\r\nHow can you apply this to your life? Well, what expectations surround you?\r\n\r\nBy learning the art of exceeding expectations, you can make dinner a WOW for your family, or bedtime a WOW for your kids, or an assignment a WOW for your boss.\r\n\r\nYou can even exceed your own expectations! How much time do you expect to spend in prayer this week? Take up Jesus’ challenge, and exceed that expectation.\r\n\r\nGo above. Go beyond. Challenge average. Don’t settle for good enough.\r\n\r\nIf you do, you’ll discover a sense of pride and accomplishment. You will bless those around you. You will discover that ordinary can be turned into extraordinary.\r\n\r\nAnd once you’ve discovered the life of the second mile, you’ll find it hard to be satisfied with anything less.\r\n\r\nHave you found this principle to be true? How can you apply it to your life? I would love to hear your comment here. \r\n\r\n
