Mothers are amazing. They just are.\r\nThey work countless hours. They do millions of things.\r\n

\r\nAnd I can honestly say, if it weren\’t for my mom…I wouldn\’t be here at all. (Some of you will get that later…)\r\n\r\nI recently found a poem I wrote to my mom seven years ago. I\’d thought I\’d share it with you today. Maybe you feel the same way about your mom: \r\n\r\nThere For Me\r\n\r\nAs a baby you were there for me,\r\nTo be what only a mother could be\r\nTo change my diaper and wipe my nose,\r\nTo give me a bath and wash my clothes\r\n\r\nAs a child you were there for me\r\nTo be what only a mother could be\r\nTo clean up after me when I tracked through the hall\r\nTo bandage my knee after a fall\r\nTo cook and clean and cut my hair\r\nNo matter what the need, you were always there.\r\n\r\nAnd now as a teenager you are there for me,\r\nTo be what only a mother could be\r\nTo help me with algebra again and again…\r\nAs my mother, you’ve become my teacher\r\nAnd as my teacher, you\’ve become my friend\r\n\r\nIf the future I know you’ll be there for me\r\nTo be what only a mother can be\r\nThank you for showing such love and care\r\nAnd thank you for always being there.\r\n\r\n© Josh Hood, 2011. All rights reserved.
