You can\’t choose the weather.\r\nYou can’t always choose your financial situation.\r\n\r\nIs your attitude this ugly?\r\n\r\nYou can’t always choose how people act or respond.\r\nYou can’t choose the family you’re born into. \r\nYou can’t always choose what happens to you.\r\n\r\nBut there’s one thing YOU are always responsible for. There’s one thing you CAN choose… \r\n\r\nYour attitude.\r\n\r\nYour attitude is not an accident. It is as much a choice as the clothes you are wearing right now.\r\n\r\nAnd don’t you cop out and tell me “a discouraged attitude runs in my family,â€ or “I come by this fiery temper naturally.â€ You can’t keep your grandma from giving you an ugly sweater for Christmas; but you can keep from wearing it to the job interview the following week. \r\n\r\nSee, just because you’re handed something, doesn’t mean you have to wear it. That applies to sweaters…and attitudes.\r\n\r\nWe often think of a poor attitude as a reaction (example: our car broke down, so we’re in a bad mood). But that’s simply an excuse. Because a poor attitude isn’t a reaction – it’s a choice. I am choosing to wear that ugly-sweater attitude.\r\n\r\nSo take a look in the mirror. What attitude are you wearing?\r\n\r\nTo comment, click here.
